Shumei выплатил Мозговой 50 тыс. грн за то, что без разрешения исполнил песню ее отца. Продюсер рассказала, куда потратит эти деньги

Ukraine’s popular artist Shumei (Oleg Shumei) recently made news by paying Ukrainian producer Alena Mozgovaya 50,000 hryvnya for performing the song «Minae Den'» without permission. The words for the song were written by Ukrainian poet Yury Rybchinsky, and the lyrics were composed by Mozgovaya’s father, the renowned Ukrainian composer and singer Nikolai Mozgovaya.

This came to light on the 22nd of October as Alena announced the payment on her Facebook page. This announcement was met with widespread appreciation from music lovers all over the world. Shumei’s act of goodwill was seen as a gesture of respect for the original composer, as well as for Ukrainian music in general.

The song itself, «Minae Den'», was composed in 2003 and Rybchinsky’s words were an ode to the Ukrainian people and their struggle for independence. It was very much in tune with the music of the time and quickly became an anthem of sorts for the country, with its lyrics carrying a strong message of hope and patriotism.

It is this same spirit of hope and patriotism that Shumei was channeling through his generous payment to Alena Mozgovaya. By doing so, Shumei showed his admiration for the original composer, as well as his respect for the Ukrainian people and their culture. This is an example of how art can not only bring people together, but also be used as a platform for meaningful social change.

Not only did this act of kindness show respect for the original composer, but also served as an inspiration for upcoming artists to be more mindful of their conduct when it comes to the ownership and copyright of music. It is heartening to see that even in these trying times, with music becoming increasingly digitalized and often neglected, there are still artists like Shumei who are actively promoting awareness and understanding of copyright laws.

Shumei’s gesture of goodwill is certainly one that has caught the attention of many. It shows that no matter what the profession, respecting others and their art form is a universal concept. It is actions like these that prove that great music can unify people and bring about meaningful social change.
