On July 29th, the orchestra, led by conductor Oksana Lyniv, treated the audience to a night of breathtaking music by both foreign and Ukrainian composers.

The event was attended by many distinguished guests, including the new Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, General Valeriy Zaluzhny. His presence added a sense of pride and honor to the concert, as he is esteemed for his service to his country and his deep appreciation for music.

The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra, comprised of talented musicians from different parts of Ukraine, has been gaining recognition for its powerful performances across Europe. This concert marked their debut in London, and it was evident that they left a lasting impression on the audience.

The evening began with an enthralling performance of Mozart’s «Symphony No. 40,» followed by Tchaikovsky’s «Fantasy-Overture Romeo and Juliet,» which showcased the orchestra’s exceptional technical skills and emotional depth. The audience was then treated to a rare performance of Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk’s «Melody for Violin and Orchestra,» featuring the orchestra’s concertmaster Oleksandr Pushkarenko, who mesmerized the crowd with his virtuosity.

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the performance of the Ukrainian National Anthem, «Shche ne vmerla Ukrainy,» which evoked a sense of patriotism and unity among the audience. This was followed by a moving rendition of Beethoven’s «Ode to Joy,» which seemed to sum up the spirit of the evening – a celebration of freedom, unity, and the power of music.
