Slovakian Truckers Union recently announced the resumption of the blockade of the border crossing «Vyšné-Nemecké — Užhorod» on the 11th of December. The announcement was made on their Facebook page on the 10th of December.
The border crossing was blocked for several days due to several serious issues that revolved around immigration data and other formalities. The trade route has been long-standing and it facilitates the movement of goods and services between Slovakia and Ukraine.
The Slovakian Truckers Union has been persistent in making sure that the road conditions remain safe and secure for both the drivers and commuters. The Union’s relentless efforts have paid off and finally, the agreement is now complete and the border crossing resumed its operations.
The Union has thanked all the partners, both public and private, who worked together to provide the necessary resources and support to get the blockade end. This included providing adequate financial, legal, and technical assistance. The Union also thanked the government of both Slovakia and Ukraine for cooperating and working out the issues.
At the same time, the Union has also called on all relevant stakeholders to take utmost precaution so that such unfortunate circumstances never take place in the future. The Union has asked them to create and implement proper protocols and procedures to ensure smooth and safe travel for all road-users.
The successful end of the blockade has not only reassured travelers but also signified fruitful collaboration between Slovakia and Ukraine. This will allow the two countries to further foster close business ties and reap mutual benefits.
The Slovakian Truckers Union has once again come out as a beacon of justice and unity, by helping to restore the peaceful trade route and promoting cordial relations between two countries. Their effort is highly commendable in this regard.
